On the part of AFPSLAI, LtGen Domingo assured the Chief PNP that inculcating the culture of savings and responsible borrowing shall remain a high priority.
AFPSLAI, being a leader in the non-stock savings & loans industry, has been steadfast in serving the men and women of the PNP, not only in terms of meeting their financial needs but also in uplifting their lives as well as their families. Various initiatives on corporate social responsibility are carried out through AFPSLAI’s Outreach Program, Donations Program, Scholarship and Educational Assistance Program, Search for Outstanding Member-Entrepreneurs and Financial Literacy Campaign.
AFPSLAI will also extend its financial literacy campaign with the Philippine National Police through the conduct of Personal Finance Management Seminar for select PNP personnel on October 26, 2016. ###
In line with its mission of promoting the culture of savings and responsible borrowing among its members, the Armed Forces and Police Savings & Loan Association, Inc. (AFPSLAI) recently implemented its Financial Literacy Program. The Personal Financial Management Seminar, entitled Building a Solid Financial Foundation, was held last September 20, 2016 (Tuesday) at the Social Hall, AFPSLAI Head Office, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City. It was attended by 148 enlisted AFP personnel, headed by the AFP Sergeant Major and AFPSLAI Trustee FCMS Romeo H Jandugan (INF) PA. The seminar is focused on helping AFPSLAI members gain knowledge on how to save, handle money, set a budget, invest and many others.
AFPSLAI tapped the services of Mr Chinkee Tan, a well-known Wealth Coach and Motivational Speaker, to give advices on how to become financially free. In the said seminar, Mr Tan shared his insights on how to solve the money problem: maintaining a positive money mindset, setting aside money for savings, prioritizing expenses, augmenting income and staying away from bad debts.
AFPSLAI President & CEO LtGen Virgilio O Domingo AFP (Ret) also shared his personal experiences on financial management. He urged the participants to start building up their physical, mental and financial assets before they reach their retirement age. He mentioned that AFPSLAI can be their partner in balancing their ability to save and their capability to loan.
The seminar was capped off with a brief background on AFPSLAI Products and Services, which was discussed by Ms Ma Kathleen M Velasco, Supervisor, Marketing Section, Aguinaldo Branch.
The same seminar will be done within the 4th Quarter of 2016 for the enlisted PNP personnel. Next year, AFPSLAI intends to duplicate this program in selected branch offices nationwide. ###
