Two AFPSLAI Scholars passed the licensure exams for Nursing that was conducted by the Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC) from June 2-3. Ms. Emmalyn Keziah N. Lajot (a graduate of Silliman University) and Ms. Sheilalaine T. Habbi (a graduate of Notre Dame of Jolo College) made it to the official list of Board passers.
Ms. Nhikki M. Kuizon, a graduate of Silliman University, has also been admitted as a professional in the medical field. She recently passed the Medical Technologist Licensure Examination held last August 31 and September 1.

The Board of Trustees has elected Col. Diosdado M Domingo (Ret) as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the Armed Forces and Police Savings & Loan Association, Inc. (AFPSLAI).
Col Domingo graduated No. 4 from the Philippine Military Academy Masikap Class of 1977. In 1982, while in the military, he acquired another bachelor’s degree In Electrical Engineering from University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. He subsequently passed and placed No. 5 in the Professional Electrical Licensure Examination that was conducted by the Board of Electrical Engineering, Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC) in 1986. He is also a registered and licensed Professional Electronics Engineer after passing the PRC Board Examinations in 2011 and 1985. He obtained his post-graduate degree with Master in Business Management at the Asian Institute of Management in 1988.
As for his military career, he served as Battery Commander of the 1st Artillery Regiment, 1st Infantry Division based in Sulu in the late 70s. His subsequent assignments involved working with the AFP Communication-Electronics Service as Transmission Engineer, Logistics Officer and Project Implementation Team Leader. The new President’s work experiences as a civilian include being a member of the Board of Directors of the Northern Mindanao Development Bank in Cagayan De Oro City and AIG Finance Co. (Phils.). He also served as the Vice President for Controllership and Subsidiary Holding Department of the AFP Retirement and Separation Benefit System (AFP-RSBS) in Camp Aguinaldo. He worked in Digital Telecommunications Philippines, Inc. (DIGITEL) from 1994 to 2010 as Vice President and General Manager of various Regional Business Units prior to his election as member of the AFPSLAI Board of Trustees in 2011.
Aside from his current position in AFPSLAI, he is also a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
A simple turnover ceremony was held last September 9, 2013 to formally welcome the new President and CEO. Col. Domingo, during his speech before the employees, highlighted the importance of living the core values in accomplishing the mission and fulfilling the vision of the Association. He also urged the workforce to cohesively work hard as a team, and to always consciously remember the commitments made to all stakeholders of AFPSLAI.
