The Confederation of Non-Stock Savings and Loan Associations (CONSLA) held its 21st National Convention on April 26-28, 2012 in Boracay, Aklan.
The theme “CONSLA at 40: Pillar of Growth and Stability” underscores the Association’s exceptional financial and operational performance for the Year 2011, as well as its contribution to national growth for the past 40 years.
The Honorable Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr., a Member of the Senate Committee on Bank Financial Institution and Currency, was the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker.
One of the highlights of the event is the election of Trustees and Executive Offices, where AFPSLAI’s very own, RAdm Ramon T Punzalan AFP (Ret), was elected as one of CONSLA’s Trustees for the period 2012-2015. Atty Samuel B Padilla and Mr Gilberto T Acuesta, on the other hand, were re-elected as Legal Counsel and Executive Assistant to the President, respectively for the Year 2012-2013.
Another much anticipated part of the program is the Operational Excellence Awards and Gawad CONSLA. AFPSLAI received the Gawad Dangal Award for its Search for Outstanding Member-Entrepreneurs, a program that encourages its members to put their loans to good use by venturing into business.
CONSLA is the umbrella organization that was created as a governing body of the Non-Stock Savings and Loan Association (NSSLA) industry. Its primary aim is to protect the interests and welfare of its member-associations, as well as their beneficiaries, belonging to the marginalized sectors of society, such as the military, police, teachers, employees of government and private sectors, market vendors, miners, and school employees.
