For the past years, AFPSLAI has been providing free healthcare services and Christmas gift-giving as its outreach activities.
For the year 2016, selected branch offices in each area (NCR, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao) conducted blood donation drive, dubbed as “Let the Love Flow”. This project was in partnership with Philippine Red Cross (PRC), which supplies approximately one-fourth of the country’s blood requirements. It aimed to encourage members and employees to donate blood for those in need. More than 200 AFPSLAI members volunteered and were qualified to be blood donors.
On the other hand, medical missions were again held in all AFPSLAI branch offices nationwide, as part of the 44th AFPSLAI Anniversary Celebration. Members, especially our member-pensioners, were accommodated for medical and optical check-up, and consultation. Free medicines/vitamins, flu vaccines, and reading glasses were also provided. Groceries and corporate giveaways were raffled off during the activity. In some branch offices, the medical mission also included free dental check-up and tooth extraction.
AFPSLAI’s partnership with various AFP and PNP units, as well as medical partners and suppliers, made these outreach activities possible. ##
